Research & Development Specialist (Saudi Arabia)
Our client, a leading energy group, is looking for an experienced Chemical Research & Development Specialist.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering
  • Min. 8-10 years relevant laboratory experience in development of chemicals products
  • Understanding of the basic fundamentals or polymer and analystical chemistry
  • Must be very fluent in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge in the concersion processes such as extrusion molding, injection molding, blow molding and etc.
  • Capability to plan, manage projects, and direct research activities
  • Work with cross-functional teams to insure delivery on product commitments
  • Experience in complex or large projects is an advantage
  • Track record of success as measured by new products, product improvements, publications and patents
Responsibilities
  • To carry out day to day research and development activities in collaboration with others in projects
  • To define a process and implement for defining new product specifications or changing existing ones
  • To research new markets, conduct testing to determine viability and introduce applications to possible markets
  • To perform direct laboratory research in developing new products and modifying current products and materials
  • To implement development of new applications of existing products
  • To support businesss through personnel relationships to customers, if necessary
  • To provide proper training to technology employees prior to the operations of equipment
  • To foster technical support and development in the chemicals business together with the Marketing Department
  • To provide technical assistance to production and quality assurance departments during manfacturing
  • To make technical presentations to customers in order to promote technologies and products from the firm
  • To meet with raw materials suppliers to keep informed on new materials
  • To support continuous improvement with respect to Quality Management System

Requirements

    Requirements
    • Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry with experience in Polymer Chemistry
    • Academic training in the ares of Chemistry and/ or Chemical Engineering
    • Min. 8-10 years experience as technical engineer or equivalent position related directly to chemicals
    • Must be very fluent in written and spoken English
    • Strong computer skills with the ability to use spreadsheets, databases, presentations, etc.
    • Ability to travel as needed to work with marketing (and sales), customers and customer staff
    Responsibility
    • To provide rapid response to customer inquiries
    • To identify and establish new customer base by working closely with local and country distributors
